Where I always find myself again
From as far back as I can remember, making things was simply how I understood the world — a language before language. It was never something I chose; it was always just there.
When life took an unexpected turn and I was recovering from a brain injury, creating became my anchor. The studio turned into the one place I could always feel like myself again — somewhere quiet, kind and entirely mine. These days I see that as a gift: I get to make for the pure joy of it.
Today I work in oil, acrylic and drawing — portraits, pets and the quiet moments people most want to hold onto. Each piece begins not with a brush, but with listening: understanding the feeling you'd love captured before a single mark is made.
